Job summary

Weston & Sampson Engineers Inc is seeking an experienced Structural Engineer with 10–20 years of building design experience to lead planning, design, and delivery of complex projects.

Responsibilities include designing, reviewing drawings and calculations, managing budgets and schedules, mentoring junior staff, and contributing to client development. A PE license in NC/SC or ability to obtain within 6 months is required.

Qualifications

• BS in Civil Engineering required; MS in Civil or Structural Engineering preferred.
• 10–20 years of building design experience in structural engineering.
• Licensed Professional Engineer with NC/SC liability; able to become licensed within 6 months.
• Strong knowledge of building codes, structural design standards, and construction practices.
• Experience with concrete, steel, masonry, wood, and foundation systems.

Responsibilities

• Lead and support planning, design, and construction administration of building projects.
• Prepare and review drawings, calculations, reports, specs, and cost estimates.
• Manage scope, budgets, schedules, quality, and cross-disciplinary coordination.
• Provide technical guidance and mentoring to junior staff.
• Contribute to proposals, client development, and business opportunities.
