Job summary

Martin/Martin, Inc. seeks a licensed Structural Engineer with strong project management experience to join our San Mateo, CA team. The role focuses on leading design efforts for diverse markets, coordinating staff, and maintaining client relationships on national and international projects.

Many assignments are in California, with opportunities nationwide. Required are a CA SE license (or ability to obtain in 1 year), ABET engineering degree, and 9 years in engineering with seismic experience.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering from an ABET-accredited curriculum.
• 9 years of progressive engineering experience.
• 1 year of professional experience equivalencies include a Master's degree in Civil Engineering or Architectural Engineering, OR passing the 16-hour NCEES structural engineering exam.
• Minimum 3 years of prior experience with high seismic engineering.
• Current California SE licensure or ability to obtain licensure within 1 year.
• Eligible to work in the United States without visa sponsorship.
• Ability to work in the San Mateo area; relocation reimbursement may be provided.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage engineering and technician staff to successfully complete projects.
• Build relationships with the project team and serve as the primary point-of-contact for clients and contractors throughout the design and construction phases.
• Develop, monitor, and manage project work plans, schedules, and design budgets.
• Develop and implement project-specific QA/QC plans.
• Act as a mentor and resource for less experienced staff, assisting with their career development.
• Take an active role in representing the firm in business development pursuits.
