Job summary

Horner & Shifrin is seeking a full-time Building Project Engineer in our Structural Business Unit in Missouri. This role requires at least five years of experience and involves applying building practices, performing analyses, and coordinating with other disciplines to ensure successful project delivery.

The candidate will prepare drawings, cost estimates, and reports while collaborating with project teams.

Qualifications

• Licensed Professional Engineer in Illinois, Missouri, or Arkansas
• Licensed Structural Engineer in Illinois (preferred)
• 5+ years of structural engineering experience
• Experience with structural design of water or wastewater plant structures or similar
• Proficient with AutoCAD, Revit, or Microstation
• Must possess a valid driver's license
• Must complete a background check

Responsibilities

• Follow Building Practice production and design standards and procedures as delegated by the Project Manager
• Perform and check structural engineering calculations using company, client, and industry standards
• Prepare and check structural construction drawings with teammates to meet firm and client requirements
• Develop and check cost estimates
• Prepare reports and studies
• Assist in the management of projects
• Coordinate with other engineering disciplines to assure successful completion of projects
