Job summary

Stantec is seeking a Senior Structural Designer in Santa Maria, CA to work independently on small and medium projects and lead larger projects as a team leader. You will evaluate, select, and specify engineered systems and products for diverse building types.

Join Stantec’s Buildings team to deliver high-quality structural design, coordinate with architects, interior designers and other disciplines, and mentor junior staff while maintaining schedules and budgets.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 years of related work experience.
• Bachelor’s degree in engineering is required; Master’s degree preferred.
• Professional Engineering license is required; Structural Engineering license preferred.
• Experience with modeling software (Autodesk Revit).
• Experience with industry standard software (CSI, RISA, RAM).

Responsibilities

• Independently complete calculations and drawings for small and medium projects.
• Lead junior engineers on complex projects.
• Coordinate with architectural interiors and other disciplines.
• Perform Construction Administration duties including RFIs and submittals.
• Develop job specifications for less complex projects.
• Communicate design issues and solutions with clients.
