We are seeking an experienced Senior Structural Project Engineer to lead structural engineering and design efforts from initial concept through production and project completion. In this role, you will work on steel structures, modular buildings, and fabricated systems, collaborating closely with project managers, manufacturing teams, and customers to deliver high-quality engineering solutions.
- Engineering & Design Leadership: Lead the structural engineering and design of assigned projects from concept through production and completion. Develop structural calculations, engineering analyses, and design solutions in accordance with building codes, engineering standards, and customer specifications.
- Structural Analysis: Perform structural analysis for steel structures, modular buildings, equipment supports, platforms, and related fabricated systems, incorporating gravity, wind, seismic, and other applicable loading conditions.
- Cross-Functional Coordination: Review architectural, civil, mechanical, and electrical drawings to ensure proper coordination with structural systems. Coordinate with Project Managers to support project schedules, budgets, engineering deliverables, and customer expectations.
- Manufacturing Support: Collaborate with Manufacturing to optimize designs for fabrication efficiency, constructability, and cost reduction. Provide engineering support throughout manufacturing, resolving design questions and field issues as they arise.
- Documentation & Compliance: Prepare, review, and approve structural drawings, fabrication packages, calculations, and engineering documentation. Review customer specifications, contracts, and technical requirements to ensure compliance. Conduct engineering reviews and quality checks prior to release for fabrication. Maintain accurate documentation, revision history, and project records.
- Change Management: Evaluate engineering changes and recommend solutions while minimizing impacts to project cost and schedule.
- Client Engagement: Participate in customer meetings, design reviews, and technical discussions as the primary structural engineering representative.
- Mentorship & Standards: Mentor junior engineers and designers by providing technical guidance, training, and oversight. Assist in developing engineering standards, design procedures, calculation templates, and best practices while supporting continuous improvement initiatives.
- Safety & Standards: Ensure compliance with OSHA regulations, applicable building codes, company standards, and engineering ethics.
