EmployBridge is seeking an experienced Structural Engineering & Design Manager to lead engineering and design operations at a key facility in the United States. The role blends hands-on structural engineering with leadership, project oversight, and strategic influence across the organization.

You will manage a team of designers and drafters, oversee structural design activities, and ensure compliance with building codes and standards from concept to production.

About the Opportunity

A well-established and growing manufacturing organization is seeking an experienced Structural Engineering & Design Manager to lead engineering and design operations at one of its key facilities.

This role offers the opportunity to combine hands‑on structural engineering expertise with team leadership, project oversight, and strategic influence across the organization. The successful candidate will lead a team of designers and drafters, oversee structural design activities, ensure compliance with applicable building codes and engineering standards, and provide technical direction from concept through production.

Key Responsibilities

Engineering & Team Leadership

• Lead, mentor, and develop a team of engineering designers and CAD professionals.
• Review and approve engineering drawings, calculations, and technical documentation.
• Establish and maintain engineering standards, procedures, and best practices.
• Collaborate cross‑functionally with operations, production, quality, and commercial teams to ensure successful project execution.
• Design and analyze structural systems for residential and building‑related projects.
• Perform engineering calculations and structural evaluations using industry‑accepted methods and software.
• Ensure compliance with local, state, and national building codes.
• Review and approve construction documents and design modifications.
• Apply professional engineering seal and approval where required.

Project Management

• Manage multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining quality and schedule expectations.
• Interface with customers, regulatory bodies, and third‑party review agencies.
• Provide technical guidance during manufacturing, construction, and installation activities.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on quality, efficiency, and cost reduction.

Qualifications

Required

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, or related discipline.
• Active U.S. Professional Engineer (PE) license.
• Ability to stamp and seal structural drawings and engineering documents.
• 5+ years of structural engineering experience.
• Previous leadership or supervisory experience.
• Strong knowledge of building codes and structural engineering principles.
• Experience with structural analysis software and AutoCAD.
• Excellent communication, leadership, and project management skills.

Preferred

• Experience in modular, manufactured housing, residential, or light commercial construction.
• Multi‑state PE licensure or ability to obtain additional licenses.
• Experience working with third‑party code compliance and review agencies.

Travel

• Approximately 10% travel, including facility visits, project sites, customer meetings, and field inspections.
