Job summary

Brown and Caldwell is recruiting a Senior Structural Engineer to serve as the Structural Discipline Leader for our Northeast Area market. The role leads a distributed team across offices and guides workload, hiring, project assignments, and mentoring.

The position HQ is in the US with a preference for the Northeast, and a virtual/remote work option is available. The candidate will ensure resource alignment, QA/QC of deliverables, and represent the discipline in the Portfolio delivery team while

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering with a focus on structural engineering; professional certification required.
• MS degree in a related engineering field preferred.
• Typically 8+ years of experience in structural engineering with proven leadership.

Responsibilities

• Manage activities of individual contributors within the team.
• Steer the execution of structural analysis and design.
• Guide the preparation and checking of structural calculations, drawings and specifications.
• Investigate existing conditions and produce comprehensive reports.
• Enforce compliance with building codes during project execution.
• Coordinate cross-discipline operations for seamless project execution.
• Lead, develop, and coach a high-performing team by setting clear expectations.
• Oversee workload planning, performance management, and team operations.
