Job summary

General Dynamics Ordnance and Tactical Systems (OTS) seeks a Principal Mechanical Engineer with a strong structural background to support the SRM engineering team. You will lead structural design, analysis, and verification for motor cases, nozzles, insulation systems, joints, and interfaces.

The role may be performed remotely or onsite at Huntsville, AL, Niceville, FL, or Hampton, AR locations, with responsibilities spanning modeling, analysis, and documentation for critical SRM hardware.

Qualifications

• Associate's Degree plus 8-10 years of experience.
• Engineering degree required.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).

Responsibilities

• Applies advanced engineering techniques to design, install, modify, analyze, repair and test tools, engines, machines, and other mechanically functioning equipment.
• Guides the interpretation of blueprints, technical drawings, schematics, and computer-generated reports.
• Collaborates with engineers and other personnel to implement operating procedures, resolve system malfunctions, and provide technical information.
• Researches and analyzes customer design proposals, specifications, manuals, and data to evaluate feasibility, cost, and maintenance requirements.
