General Dynamics Ordnance and Tactical Systems is seeking a Principal Mechanical Engineer to join the Solid Rocket Motor Engineering Team. The role focuses on design, development, and integration of mechanical components for solid rocket motors, including motor cases, nozzles, insulation, joints, and interfaces.

Remote option available; positions in Huntsville, AL, Niceville, FL, or Hampton, AR. The candidate will perform thermal analysis, validate models with test data, and create CAD models

Qualifications

• Associate's Degree and 8-10 years' experience required.
• Engineering degree required as discipline/major.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).

Responsibilities

• Apply advanced engineering techniques to design, install, modify, analyze, repair and test tools, engines, machines, and other mechanically functioning equipment.
• Guide interpretation of blueprints, drawings, schematics, and reports.
• Collaborate with engineers to implement procedures, resolve malfunctions, and provide technical information.
• Research customer proposals to evaluate feasibility, cost and maintenance requirements.
• Specify system components or direct modification to meet specifications.
• Investigate failures and diagnose faulty operation; advise maintenance.
