Chavez-Grieves Consulting Engineers, Inc. is seeking a Structural Investigative Engineer/Forensic Engineer to join our team.

The candidate will investigate causes of structural damage and prepare detailed reports with recommendations for corrective action. Applicants should have a Bachelor's in Civil/Structural or Architectural Engineering, a PE license, and 10+ years of relevant experience, with excellent communication skills and the ability to lead engineers and technicians.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil/Structural or Architectural Engineering; a master's is a plus.
• 10+ years of progressive structural design experience.
• Registered Professional Engineer (PE).
• Strong knowledge of building design codes.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to analyze, interpret, synthesize, prioritize, report and recommend for complex projects.

Responsibilities

• Investigate commercial and residential facilities to determine cause and origin of structural damage, defects and failures.
• Analyze damage and assess potential threats to structures.
• Prepare clear, concise reports outlining cause and origin with recommended corrective actions.
• Apply engineering judgement to unusual or complex projects and conditions.
• Submit reports to clients timely and in accordance with their standards.
• Manage other engineers and technicians.
• Some travel will be required.
