Job summary

WSP USA is seeking a Senior Structural Engineer to lead multi‑site due diligence, design, and construction support for building and infrastructure projects. You will develop plans, estimates, and safety phasing while coordinating with engineers, architects, and clients to meet code requirements.

The role requires 5–7 years of experience, an EIT certification, and strong knowledge of structural concepts and design software. Occasional travel may be required for project sites and inspections.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Structural or Civil Engineering or closely related discipline.
  • 5 to 7 years of relevant post‑education experience in engineering and prior structural/civil design experience.
  • Engineer in Training Certification.
  • Proficient knowledge of structural engineering principles, practices, process, and application to project work issues.
  • Experience with infrastructure planning, design, and construction management; rehab and new design projects.

Responsibilities

  • Determine methods for collecting and analyzing data from site, surveys, blueprints, GIS, and other matrices for project development, design, and construction.
  • Perform professional structural engineering work and inspections to determine conformance with rules, standards, and permits.
  • Develop construction plans, specifications, and cost estimates; prepare safety and phasing plans and update infrastructure layout plans.
  • Incorporate advanced modeling techniques and design requirements to ensure safety and functionality for end‑users and transportation systems.
  • Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to execute projects and guide installations, materials selection, and cost quantities.
  • Prepare data visualizations, tables, charts, calculations, and 2D/3D illustrations for reports and presentations.
  • Maintain QA/QC standards and procedures for accurate measurements and reporting.
  • Assist with development and scoping of medium‑sized projects and provide guidance to junior engineers.
