Actalent in Smyrna, GA is seeking a Structural Analysis Engineer to perform FEA on heavy mobile equipment and large fabricated structures, validating designs through testing and collaboration across engineering teams.

The role requires hands-on experience with ANSYS and Siemens NX, strong mechanics of materials knowledge, and a track record of delivering robust, safe, and cost-effective solutions within schedule constraints.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering required.
• 3+ years of structural FEA and design validation experience.
• Experience with heavy equipment or large fabricated structures.

Responsibilities

• Perform advanced structural analyses using FEA for heavy mobile equipment and large fabricated structures.
• Develop engineering reports documenting analysis methods, boundary conditions, results, and recommendations.
• Review FEA work for accuracy, robustness, and adherence to best practices.
• Evaluate performance and recommend design improvements for reliability and manufacturability.
• Plan and execute validation activities including strain gauge setup and data correlation.
• Carry out calculations related to mechanics of materials and welded structures.
• Maintain and improve structural design standards and procedures.
• Lead design reviews with cross-functional teams to drive decisions.
• Mentor Design Engineers and junior staff in FEA methods and validation.
• Support new product development through structural concepts and validation strategies.
• Ensure alignment with safety policies and strong safety culture.
