Job summary

Piper Companies seeks an experienced Structural Engineer to support design, review, and evaluation of structural projects across a large geographic region, with travel to project sites. Strong AutoCAD proficiency and a solid grasp of building codes are essential.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years in structural engineering, experience with IBC/IRC, and the ability to obtain a Public Trust clearance. PE license and master’s degree are preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Structural Engineering or Civil Engineering with structural emphasis.
• 5+ years of structural engineering experience.
• 5+ years of hands-on AutoCAD experience.
• Demonstrated experience with structural analysis and design.
• Experience with building codes including IBC, IRC, and related standards.
• Ability to obtain a Public Trust clearance.

Responsibilities

• Perform structural engineering evaluations, assessments, and technical reviews.
• Develop project scopes of work, cost estimates, and design packages.
• Create and review engineering drawings using AutoCAD.
• Review contractor and architect/engineer design submissions.
• Provide engineering guidance and technical problem resolution.
• Conduct facility condition assessments and field investigations.
• Support construction projects through design review and contract modifications.
• Collaborate with project managers, engineers, architects, contractors, and stakeholders.
• Travel periodically to project and operational sites for inspections and assessments.
