Job summary

KPFF Consulting Engineers seeks a Senior Structural Engineer for Waterfront/Marine projects in Tacoma, WA. Bring 10+ years of structural design experience, SE license, and expertise in pile design, bulkhead walls, and seismic design.

You will work in KPFF's Special Projects Group on a range of waterfront infrastructure, ports, and industrial facilities. The role emphasizes design and project management, client engagement, and delivering exceptional service.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering (with a structural emphasis)
• MS in Civil Engineering preferred (with a structural emphasis)
• SE required
• Concrete, steel and timber design experience
• Pile design and bulkhead wall experience
• Prestressed concrete and seismic design experience
• Knowledge of ASCE 61-14, AASHTO, IBC, ASCE-7, AISC, ACI, and NDS
• Proficiency in SAP2000, L-Pile, MS Excel, and VBA is preferred

Responsibilities

• Apply engineering expertise to diverse waterfront and industrial projects
• Lead design development for pile, bulkhead, prestressed concrete, and seismic components
• Manage project tasks, timelines, budgets, and resources
• Conduct site visits and inspections to ensure compliance
• Mentor team members and support professional growth
• Foster strong client relationships with clear communication
