Job summary

Zachary Piper Solutions is seeking a Structural Engineer to support design, review, assessment, and evaluation of structural projects across a large geographic region, including Alaska. The role requires strong AutoCAD skills and a solid understanding of building codes and structural systems.

Travel to project sites will be required. The ideal candidate will have 5+ years of structural engineering experience, a relevant degree, and experience with structural analysis.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Structural Engineering or Civil Engineering with a structural emphasis
• 5+ years of structural engineering experience
• 5+ years of hands-on AutoCAD experience
• Demonstrated experience with structural analysis and design
• Experience with building codes including IBC, IRC, and related standards
• Ability to obtain a Public Trust clearance

Responsibilities

• Perform structural engineering evaluations, assessments, and technical reviews
• Develop project scopes of work, cost estimates, and design packages
• Create and review engineering drawings using AutoCAD
• Review contractor and architect/engineer design submissions
• Provide engineering guidance and technical problem resolution
• Conduct facility condition assessments and field investigations
• Support construction projects through design review and contract modifications
• Collaborate with project managers, engineers, architects, contractors, and stakeholders
• Travel periodically to project and operational sites for inspections and assessments
