Job summary

Stantec in Lexington, KY is seeking a Senior Structural Engineer to lead design and analysis for water-related facilities, manage projects, and mentor junior engineers. This role requires coordination with multidisciplinary teams, clients, and sub consultants to deliver compliant, constructible solutions.

Responsibilities include preparing calculations, drawings, and specifications, guiding project scope and schedule, and contributing to proposals while ensuring adherence to codes and industry

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering; master’s degree preferred.
• Professional Engineer License is required.
• Minimum of 10 years of experience.
• Experience with analysis, design, and inspection of spillways, spillway gates, locks, miter gates, and hydropower facilities.

Responsibilities

• Perform preliminary and detailed structural analysis and design for Water and Wastewater Treatment Plants, Reservoirs, other Hydraulic Containment Facilities, Industrial Structures, and Administrative Buildings
• Lead or support an engineering Team responsible for evaluating, selecting, specifying, and engineering all structural engineered systems or products for a project
• Lead or support an engineering Team responsible for the preparation and revisions to documentation in various structural phases including conceptual design, detailed design, and construction support
• Mentor and develop junior staff and oversee project scope, budget, and schedule
• Review Contractor’s shop drawings and submittals and provide engineered solutions to RFIs
