Job summary

Northrop Grumman, based in Annapolis, MD, seeks a Staff Structural Engineer to perform linear and nonlinear analyses of components and underwater assemblies. Ideal candidates have a BS in Engineering with extensive structural analysis experience, proficiency in FEMAP/Nastran/ANSYS, and the ability to obtain TS/SCI clearance and pass a polygraph.

Qualifications

• BS degree in Engineering (Aerospace, Mechanical or equivalent STEM) with 12+ years of structural analysis experience; MS with 10 years; PhD with 8 years.
• Ability to work on-site at Annapolis, MD campus.
• Proficiency in FEMAP/Nastran and/or ANSYS FEA tools for linear and nonlinear analyses.
• Experience with finite element analysis tools, bolted joint analysis, and structural hand calculations.
• Proficiency in using common engineering design, production, analysis, and office tools.
• US citizen with ability to obtain TS/SCI and pass polygraph.

Responsibilities

• Perform linear and nonlinear structural analyses of components and assemblies using hand-calculations, FEA, and bolted joint calculations.
• Lead a small team of structural analysts to support program analysis needs.
• Ensure designs meet program requirements, schedule, and budget objectives.
• Collaborate in a team environment and communicate effectively.
