Job summary

STV is seeking a Senior Structural Engineer to join our Transportation department in Chicago, IL. Lead structural engineering for bridges and related transportation assets across the Chicago region, applying an Illinois SE license and extensive design experience.

You will coordinate multidisciplinary teams, mentor engineers, and collaborate with agencies and clients from planning to final design and construction, ensuring quality, compliance, and on-time delivery.

Qualifications

Active Illinois Structural Engineer license required.
10+ years of progressive structural/bridge engineering experience including steel/concrete transportation structures.
Experience with AASHTO LRFD, IDOT and Illinois Tollway standards.

Responsibilities

Lead structural engineering tasks for highway, transit, rail infrastructure from planning through construction.
Develop designs for steel and concrete bridges, foundations, retaining walls and culverts.
Prepare and review structural calculations, plans, specs, estimates.
Mentor junior engineers and coordinate multidisciplinary teams.
Support design reviews, field observations, and QA/QC.
