Job summary

STV is seeking a Structures Bridge Group Leader to join our Transportation department at our Chicago, IL office. Lead and grow STV’s bridge and structural transportation group in Illinois, aligning teams with strategic objectives.

Serve as Project Manager/Design Manager for highway, transit, and rail projects through planning to construction. You will guide design, rehabilitation, inspection, and load rating of structures and manage budgets, schedules, and client relationships with IDOT,

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or Structural Engineering from an accredited program.
• Active P.E. license and active Illinois S.E. license.
• 15+ years of progressive structural transportation engineering experience, including leadership of engineers and staff.
• Proven experience leading highway, transit, and/or rail bridge projects through planning to construction.
• Strong background in structural analysis and design, rehab, inspection, and load rating of bridges.
• Deep knowledge of AASHTO LRFD, IDOT and Illinois Tollway standards; AREMA for rail structures.

Responsibilities

• Lead and grow STV’s bridge and structural transportation group in Illinois.
• Serve as Project Manager and/or Design Manager for highway, transit, and rail projects.
• Guide bridge design, rehabilitation, inspection, load rating, retaining walls, culverts, and other structures.
• Oversee calculations, reports, plans, specs, estimates, schedules, and construction documents.
• Manage scope, budget, schedule, quality, safety, resources, and financial performance.
• Build relationships with IDOT, Tollway, CTA, Metra, Amtrak, railroads, and municipalities.
