Job summary

WSP USA is seeking a Senior Structural Engineer in Chicago, IL to join the Property and Buildings Team. You will support due diligence, design, and construction of building and infrastructure projects across public and private sectors.

You will develop construction plans, apply advanced modeling, and work with cross-functional teams to ensure safety, quality, and compliance. This role also includes mentoring junior engineers.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Structural or Civil Engineering or closely related discipline.
• 5–7 years of post-education engineering experience with structural/civil design.
• Engineer in Training Certification or equivalent.
• Proficient knowledge of structural design principles and codes.
• Experience with rehabilitation and new design projects.

Responsibilities

• Determine data collection methods from sites, plans, surveys, and geotechnical information.
• Perform professional structural engineering work and evaluate site conditions for conformance with regulations.
• Develop construction plans and specifications.
• Incorporate modeling techniques and design requirements for safe, functional end-users.
• Lead or contribute to multi-disciplinary project teams and mentor junior staff.
