Job summary

BART in Oakland, CA seeks a Senior Structural Engineer to maintain and enhance the transit system’s infrastructure, including bridges, tunnels and stations. You will lead structural projects under the supervision of the Principal Structural Engineer and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure safety, reliability, and long-term performance.

Candidates should have design experience on large public infrastructure, ability to develop solutions with minimal guidance, knowledge of seismic

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in structural engineering or closely related field.
Three (3) years of verifiable professional structural engineering experience.
Substitution: additional professional experience may substitute education on a year-for-year basis.

Responsibilities

Performs complex and advanced structural engineering duties in the preparation of design plans and specifications for District facilities such as stations, buildings, and other structures.
Prepares engineering calculations, drawings, specifications, and cost estimates; provides design support during construction.
Inspects equipment or facilities; analyzes and recommends engineering solutions for repair, modification or maintenance.
Coordinates structural engineering design projects and documents; supports budget preparation and monitoring.
