Job summary

City and County of San Francisco is seeking a Structural Engineer to perform professional structural engineering work in the field and office, supervise staff and consultants, and act as the structural engineer-of-record for projects.

The role involves preparing plans, specifications, and construction estimates for new construction and alterations, conducting seismic evaluations, and providing field investigations. California SE license is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or graduate degree in civil engineering from an accredited college or university.
• Six (6) years of professional engineering experience, including two (2) years of responsible supervisory experience.
• Possession of a Structural Engineer (SE) license issued from the California Board for Professional Engineers, Land Surveyors, and Geologists.

Responsibilities

• Prepare designs, analyses, calculations, drawings, and specifications for new construction or alterations of structures in concrete, steel, masonry, light gauge steel, and wood; ensure codes and project requirements are met.
• Provide construction administration, including review of submittals and RFIs, develop supplemental information, and perform structural observation.
• Direct and supervise staff and consultants in studies, designs, calculations, cost estimates, and contract documents.
