Job summary

Arup is seeking a Senior Structural Engineer to join our Structural Engineering team across several U.S. offices, including San Francisco.

The role focuses on design of building structures, coordination with multidisciplinary teams, and ensuring code-compliant solutions. Applicants should have a Master’s in Civil/Structural Engineering and 7+ years of relevant experience, with PE mandatory and SE preferred.

Qualifications

• Master’s Degree in Civil/Structural Engineering with strong fundamentals related to building systems.
• 7+ years of related experience in structural design and engineering.
• PE license required, SE license preferred.
• Experience with data centers and rail markets is a plus.
• Proficient in structural analysis software (ETABS, SAFE, SAP).

Responsibilities

• Analyze and design structural elements for steel, concrete, timber and masonry buildings.
• Perform lateral analyses for seismic and wind loading.
• Prepare and review drawings and design calculations for permits.
• Coordinate with other disciplines, architecture, and contractors.
• Communicate designs to clients and stakeholders.
