Job summary

RINA in Houston, TX seeks a Senior Structural Engineer to join the Plant Engineering Division. You will lead design, analysis, and execution of complex structural projects, guiding junior staff and coordinating with multidisciplinary teams to deliver safe, compliant solutions.

You will interface with clients and contractors, develop technical reports, and participate in site visits and reviews to ensure design intent is realized across all project phases.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil or Structural engineering; Master’s preferred.
• Minimum 8 years of experience in structural engineering.
• Structural Engineer (SE) license.
• Experience with design, analysis, and project management.
• Proficiency in performing structural calculations on pressures, loads, and stresses using industry-standard software and methods.
• Thorough understanding of construction materials and their strengths.
• Experience developing engineering studies and analyses for design, verification, and certification of structures and foundations.
• Excellent written/oral communication skills.
• Collaborative working style with a solution-driven mindset.
• Ability to work in multi-disciplinary project teams and independently manage tasks.

Responsibilities

• Plan and execute advanced structural engineering tasks ensuring safety, functionality, and compliance.
• Develop engineering deliverables such as calculation reports, specifications, and construction drawings.
• Provide day-to-day technical guidance to junior engineers and coordinate within project teams.
• Coordinate structural tasks within multidisciplinary teams under senior supervision.
• Interface with clients, consultants, and contractors on technical aspects of structural work.
• Support site inspections and construction‑phase engineering services to verify implementation of the design intent.
