Job summary

City of New York’s NYC Parks department seeks a Civil Engineer to lead structural design, prepare drawings, estimates and specifications for Parks facilities, and support Landscape Architect and Architecture projects.

Under direction, you will manage large projects with independent judgement, mentor junior engineers, perform site inspections, develop condition reports, and present proposals to internal and external stakeholders. Valid NYS PE license required.

Qualifications

• Four (4) years of full-time, satisfactory experience in civil engineering work.
• A valid New York State Professional Engineer’s License.
• A master's degree in civil engineering may substitute for one year of experience.

Responsibilities

• Perform structural engineering design, drawings, estimates and specifications for Parks facilities.
• Serve as Project Manager on large complex projects and manage schedules and budgets.
• Mentor junior structural engineers.
• Inspect sites and facilities; develop condition reports, recommendations and estimates.
• Present projects for approvals to internal and external stakeholders.
• Conduct field inspections during the design process.
