Salas O’Brien in Chesterfield, MO is seeking a Chief Structural Engineer to lead and manage a team of engineers and designers. You will drive civil/structural conceptual, preliminary, and detailed design across concrete, steel, and platework projects, while maintaining client communication and ensuring cost-efficient proposals.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Engineering (Structural or related discipline).
• 10–20 years’ experience in structural engineering, preferably related to construction or heavy industrial.
• Licensed Professional Engineer required.

Responsibilities

• Civil/Structural conceptual, preliminary, and detail design.
• Manage staff of Structural Engineers and Designers (currently 6).
• Communicate directly to clients on projects.
• Assist and direct preparation of proposals for new work.
• Assist in development of engineering cost estimates for construction.
• Quality control of structural work for the company.
• Structural staff performance reviews.
• Assist with sales and marketing with perspective clients.
• Oversee design of structures and project cost control.
