Job summary

Arcadis is seeking a Senior Structural Engineer (PE) for federal projects in the DC area. You will lead senior technical work, guide design teams, and ensure compliance with Federal criteria, quality standards, and client requirements across life-cycle efforts.

The role emphasizes hands-on leadership, strategic thinking, problem-solving, and effective stakeholder communication in a dynamic environment. Travel ~20% is expected.

Qualifications

• Minimum 10 years of relevant engineering experience on USA Federal Government projects.
• PE licensure in the United States with multiple state licenses preferred.
• U.S. citizenship required.
• Experience producing Issued for Construction design packages for federal facilities.
• Experience with design/build project delivery and Federal Design Criteria (SpecsIntact, WBDG).
• Strong structural analysis/design capabilities and client/stakeholder communication.

Responsibilities

• Serve as primary technical authority for assigned programs and initiatives.
• Lead and mentor junior/mid-level structural engineers.
• Coordinate with multiple disciplines, clients, and subcontractors across project life cycle.
• Develop calculations, plans, specifications, proposals, and contract documents.
• Provide oversight on engineering deliverables and ensure quality standards.
