Job summary

Arcadis is seeking a Senior Structural Engineer (PE) for federal projects in the Washington DC area. You will lead senior technical work, guide teams, and ensure compliance with client requirements, quality standards, and UFC/UFGS guidelines.

The role involves travel across the USA and close collaboration with multidisciplinary teams. The ideal candidate has extensive federal project experience, strong design and analysis skills, and a track record of delivering issued-for-construction packages.

Qualifications

• Minimum 10 years of relevant engineering experience related to USA Federal Government projects.
• Professional Engineering (PE) Licensure in the United States; multiple state licenses preferred.
• Must be a U.S. citizen.
• Experience producing Issued for Construction design packages for federal agency facilities.
• Experience with design/build project delivery and Federal Design Criteria (e.g., UFC, UFGS).
• Strong structural analysis and design skills; proficient in AutoCAD/REVIT, and analysis tools.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the primary technical authority for assigned engineering programs and initiatives.
• Collaborate with multiple engineering disciplines, clients, and subcontractors across the project lifecycle.
• Maintain excellent knowledge of IBC, ACI, AISC, and federal standards such as UFC and UFGS.
• Organize structural investigations, develop calculations, plans, specifications, and contract documents.
• Provide technical guidance and oversight to junior and mid-level structural engineers.
• Travel and participate in project activities including client meetings and site visits (approximately 20%).
