Job summary

Parkhill in Frisco, TX seeks a Senior Structural Professional Engineer to lead the design and analysis of building and infrastructure projects, guiding teams and ensuring code-compliant, constructible solutions. This is a full-time, salaried role with collaboration across Parkhill's MEP/S team.

You will mentor EITs and junior engineers, interface with clients, review plans, and manage design scope, hours, and budgets on diverse assignments while advancing Parkhill's mission to strengthen

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in civil engineering or architectural engineering.
  • Active PE license and ability to obtain project-specific registrations.
  • Minimum 15 years of structural building design experience in a consulting environment.
  • Proficiency with Revit/BIM and related design tools.

Responsibilities

  • Lead structural design and analysis for building and infrastructure projects.
  • Direct technicians and EITs in producing engineering documents.
  • Interface with clients alongside Project Managers.
  • Visit construction sites to verify conformance to plans.
  • Mentor junior engineers and mid-level staff.
  • Oversee design teams and manage project health (fees, schedule, hours).
  • Ensure code compliance and provide guidance on complex issues.

The Senior Structural Professional Engineer is responsible for leading the structural design and analysis of a variety of building and infrastructure projects while collaborating closely with Parkhill's integrated MEP/S team. This position plays a key role in delivering innovative, cost-effective, and constructible solutions that meet client expectations and advance the firm's mission of building stronger communities. This is a full-time position, paid bi-weekly on a salary basis.

Responsibilities
  • Prepare plans, reports, and studies for review
  • Direct technicians and EIT's for production of engineering documents for routine projects accurately and efficiently
  • Interface with Clients when appropriate alongside Project Managers
  • Visit construction sites to observe progress and determine general conformance to engineering plans and specifications
  • Research design criteria, regulations, and standards as they relate to projects and incorporate them into design documents
  • Mentor others in the proficient use of design software
  • Review and approve structural designs for quality and code compliance
  • Provide guidance on complex design issues
  • Lead design teams, including EIT, technicians, and other licensed engineers on large or complex projects
  • Manage design effort including planning hours for members of the structural project team
  • Active involvement in development of EITs and mid-level engineers
  • Manage project health including fees, schedule and hours for their projects
  • Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in civil engineering, architectural engineering
  • Active Professional Engineer (PE) lisense
  • Ability to use Revit/BIM
  • Minimum15 years of structural building design experience in a consulting role
