Sargent & Lundy is seeking a senior structural engineer for an onsite field support position at the Surry Nuclear Power Plant. You will lead a team on design, analysis, and coordination with interdisciplinary engineers to deliver structural upgrades and new facilities.

The role emphasizes steel and concrete design, travel to client sites as needed, and ensuring compliance with ASCE 7, AISC, and ACI codes. ABET-accredited civil engineering degree with 3+ years of experience required; MSCE

Qualifikationen

• BS degree in Civil Engineering with emphasis in Structural Engineering from an ABET-accredited program.
• Three or more years of experience in design and analysis of structures (AISC steel, ACI concrete).
• Experience with structural analysis software (STAAD, SAP2000, SAFE, STRUDL, or ANSYS).
• Familiarity with ASCE 7, AISC, and ACI codes.
• Good written and verbal communication skills.
• Preferred: MSCE degree; on-site construction support experience; PE/SE license.

Aufgaben

• Lead structural engineering work for projects at the Surry Nuclear Power Plant site.
• Collaborate with multi-discipline engineers and guide junior team members.
• Prepare and review design calculations and development of specifications.
• Perform structural analysis and design of steel frames, connections, and concrete members.
• Travel to client and vendor offices or plant sites for design reviews and field verification.
