Job summary

Bowman is seeking an Engineer III, Structural (Oil & Gas) to join our team in Houston. You will provide senior technical leadership, oversee design, planning, and execution of large-scale civil projects, and drive innovation while ensuring compliance with industry standards.

The role requires a bachelor’s degree in structural/civil engineering and 5+ years of experience, with Professional Engineer licensure preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in structural engineering, civil engineering, or related field.
• Five or more (5+) years of experience required.
• Professional Engineer licensure preferred.
• Extensive knowledge and experience in civil engineering principles and practices, particularly in the energy sector.
• Advanced proficiency in emerging civil engineering software and tools.
• Strong understanding of environmental and sustainability considerations.
• Advanced proficiency in geotechnical and structural engineering principles.
• In‑depth knowledge of industry codes, regulations, and best practices.
• Excellent facilitation, communication, and analytical skills – written and verbal.
• High level of personal integrity.
• Strong relationship capabilities.
• Proficient in both written and spoken English.

Responsibilities

• Perform building sizing and selection, alternative analyses, and other deliverables.
• Support the engineering, design, procurement, construction, and commissioning of facilities.
• Present engineering and design deliverables to project members, cross‑functional teams, senior leadership, external vendors, clients, and other stakeholders.
• Plan, forecast, and actualize deliverable progress to support project reporting and schedule requirements.
• Identify scope changes and estimate impact to effort and schedule.
• Work is generally independent and collaborative in nature.
• Prepares, reviews, and approves foundation, structural steel, building, and earthwork calculations, requisitions, studies, reports, BOMs, and designs.
