Job summary
Amazon is seeking an experienced Structural Engineer to join our Material Handling Systems team. This role will support analysis, design, coordination, and documentation of structural systems for conveyors, automated equipment, and material handling platforms across our fulfillment and distribution centers.
The engineer will develop calculations, design documentation, and coordinated solutions for supports, mezzanines, bracing, and connections, working with cross‑functional teams to ensure
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Architecture, Structural, Civil, Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
- Professional Engineer (PE) license in at least one US state.
- 5+ years of structural engineering experience.
- Experience with structural analysis of steel and connections.
- Proficiency with RISA or similar FEA software.
- Knowledge of IBC, ASCE7, AISC 360, AWS D1.1.
Responsibilities
- Develop structural calculations and design documentation for material handling systems and associated infrastructure.
- Coordinate BIM models, permit documents, and fabrication information.
- Design structural connections and ensure load path integrity and code compliance.
- Perform structural analysis for supports, platforms, and brace systems.
- Review vendor submittals and coordinate with contractors and SEOR.
- Lead design coordination meetings and provide technical guidance to project teams.
