Job summary

Amazon.com Services LLC is seeking an experienced Structural Engineer to design and analyze the structural backbone for material handling systems across fulfillment centers. This role focuses on steel framing, platforms, mezzanines, and connections, ensuring safe, code-compliant, scalable solutions.

You will work with cross-functional teams to develop calculations, permit documentation, and BIM models, and to coordinate with fabricators, SEORs, and project stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Experience with structural steel and connection design.
• Background in industrial structures and structural analysis.
• Experience with computational design and BIM coordination.
• Familiar with standardized structural systems and design criteria.

Responsibilities

• Develop structural calculations and design documentation for material handling systems and infrastructure.
• Support BIM models and coordinated permit documents.
• Design connections from roof structures to conveyors ensuring load path integrity and code compliance.
• Create connection details for seismic zones and retrofit projects.
• Design lateral and sway bracing for equipment and structural support systems.
• Develop platforms, mezzanines and supporting structures for material handling operations.
• Perform structural analysis and calculations for supports and equipment.
• Document load assumptions, methods and results; coordinate with SEOR and building teams.
• Verify vendor load data and coordinate with fabricators and manufacturers.
