Job summary

Stantec’s Buildings team in San Francisco seeks a Principal Structural Engineer to lead work on medium and large projects and mentor a team of engineers supporting local and national initiatives.

The role requires PE/SE licensure, 15+ years of experience, and proficiency with Revit and CSI/RISA/RAM software. The position focuses on seismic design, complex framing, and strong client collaboration.

Qualifications

• Extensive knowledge of structural design codes and building codes.
• In-depth knowledge of steel, concrete and wood framing with seismic design.
• Ability to communicate concepts to Architects, Engineers and Owners.
• Experience with modeling software such as Revit.
• PE and SE licensure required; 15+ years in structural engineering.

Responsibilities

• Lead and grow a team of Structural Engineers on local and national projects.
• Evaluate, select and specify engineered systems or products.
• Develop design standards and deliver client presentations.
• QC review on projects and pursue new business opportunities.
