Job summary

Ghafari Associates, LLC seeks a Senior Structural Engineer to design and coordinate construction documents for structural systems. You will lead project teams, apply wind and seismic loads, and mentor junior engineers in a hybrid, multi-location work environment.

With 12–15 years in structural engineering and CMU experience, you will collaborate across disciplines, stay current with codes, and deliver innovative, well-documented solutions for complex facilities worldwide.

Qualifications

• 12-15 years of related experience in the structural engineering field
• Solid CMU design knowledge
• Wood experience a plus

Responsibilities

• Review project scope, budget, and design approach with Manager of Structural Engineering, Project Manager and/or client
• Lead as project engineer for larger projects, guiding staff to meet quality, budget, and schedule
• Apply current codes and ensure they are reflected in construction documents and specifications
• Apply wind and seismic loading and convey results on drawings
• Produce innovative design solutions and provide engineering judgment
• Coordinate withArchitectural and MEP teams for well-coordinated construction documents
• Maintain project files including calculations and correspondence
• Communicate scope changes to managers and project manager
• Mentor less experienced engineers
• Use structural software to enhance productivity and verify results, performing backchecks
