Job summary

HNTB’s Salt Lake City office seeks a senior engineer to produce and modify design calculations, technical reports, and engineering plans for major infrastructure projects. You’ll mentor junior staff, guide scope and budgets, and collaborate with clients to deliver on schedule.

Requires a Bachelor’s in Engineering and substantial relevant experience; a Master’s or PhD is preferred. Utah PE license or ability to obtain it within six months is noted, with SE license preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering and 8 years of relevant experience, or
• Master’s degree in Engineering and 7 years of relevant experience, or
• PhD in Engineering and 6 years of relevant experience

Responsibilities

• Uses senior-level technical expertise to consider broad range of engineering solutions.
• Responsible for discipline-specific planning, work distribution, leadership and adherence to schedule and budget.
• Assists in marketing responsibilities, including proposal generation.
• Develops scope of work and level of effort and manages adherence to scope and budget on complex or unusual projects.
• Oversees completeness and accuracy of project team’s work within the technical discipline.
• Provides technical guidance and mentoring to team members to achieve project objectives.
• Coordinates technical aspects with client counterpart and teaming partners.
• Leads discipline delivery on larger, multi-disciplinary projects.
