KPFF Consulting Engineers is seeking a Senior Structural Engineer in our Birmingham office to lead a diverse portfolio of projects from concept through construction. You will establish and maintain client relationships while guiding engineers and BIM professionals across KPFF.

Qualifications

• PE license required; SE license preferred.
• Bachelor’s Degree in Civil or Architectural Engineering; Masters preferred.
• 8+ years of progressive structural engineering experience with leadership of complex projects.
• Proficient in structural analysis and design software; working knowledge of IBC/ASCE/ACI/AISC standards.
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills and a collaborative leadership mindset.

Responsibilities

• Lead the planning, design, and execution of structural engineering projects from concept through construction.
• Manage project scope, schedule, budgets, and team resources.
• Serve as a technical leader and mentor for engineers and BIM professionals.
• Collaborate with clients, architects, contractors, and internal teams to deliver high-quality solutions.
• Oversee engineering calculations, drawings, specifications, and reports.
• Ensure compliance with building codes and industry standards.
• Support business development and maintain client relationships.
