Job summary

AECOM is seeking a Structural Engineer to join our Buildings + Places group in the Raleigh area. You will lead the structural design and analysis of complex building and infrastructure projects, exercising sound engineering judgment and mentoring junior staff.

Responsibilities include applying codes and industry standards, developing solutions to non-routine challenges, and collaborating with architects and other engineering disciplines to deliver project outcomes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or Structural Engineering with 4 years of related design experience.
• Master’s degree in Structural Engineering is preferred.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license is preferred.
• LEED AP credential is preferred.
• Experience with structural analysis software and BIM workflows.
• Demonstrated leadership and mentoring abilities.

Responsibilities

• Lead the structural design and analysis of building systems and primary structural elements with minimal supervision.
• Apply codes and standards to make independent technical decisions.
• Develop solutions for non-routine engineering challenges using established methods.
• Perform and review structural calculations, analyses, and design documentation.
• Mentor junior engineers and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams.
• Coordinate tasks to meet project scope, schedule, and budget.
