Job summary

Hargrove is seeking a senior civil/structural engineer to lead the design of complex projects in Houston, applying advanced engineering techniques under general supervision. Responsibilities include coordinating with design leaders, producing design calculations, and ensuring conformance to codes and client expectations.

Ideal candidates have 10+ years of civil/structural experience, a BS/MS in Civil Engineering, and PE registration is preferred.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited university.
Professional Engineer registration is highly preferred.
10+ years of relevant industrial civil/structural engineering experience.
Knowledge of IBC and structural design standards.
Proficient CAD and analysis software is required.

Responsibilities

Familiarity with department design and drafting standards.
Develop conceptual layouts and cost studies for efficient solutions.
Produce preliminary designs and material take-offs.
Produce detailed design calculations and sketches for construction.
Check calculations for accuracy and conformance to codes and standards.
Lead small to large teams and coordinate work within scope, schedule and budget.
Review vendor and discipline drawings for civil/structural input.
Perform fieldwork to gather data and support construction activities.
Provide technical guidance to junior staff in the department.
Assist in assembling scopes, drawings and specifications into procurement packages.
