Job summary

WSP is seeking a Senior Structural Engineer for our Tempe, AZ office. You will lead structural design efforts for diverse building projects with healthcare, higher education, civic, and mission-critical scopes.

The role involves developing drawings, calculations, and specifications while guiding junior staff and ensuring code compliance. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, manage project scope and budgets, and communicate complex analyses to clients and authorities having

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Structural or Civil Engineering; Master’s preferred
• 5–7 years post-education experience in structural design and seismic strengthening
• Engineer in Training Certification
• Familiarity with International Building Code
• Experience with design and construction administration; rehab and new design projects
• Proficiency in structural software (RAM, ETABS, RISA, PERFORM 3D, CSI SAFE) and BIM
• Strong communication, QA/QC, and ability to lead junior staff

Responsibilities

• Develop structural construction drawings and calculation packages.
• Prepare data, tables, charts, and 2D/3D illustrations for analyses.
• Collaborate with engineers, architects, planners and scientists on projects.
• Provide guidance and training to entry-level engineers.
• Prepare technical reports and presentations of findings and recommendations.
• Ensure compliance with codes and regulations; maintain QA/QC.
