Job summary

Primary Talent Partners is seeking a Senior Structural Engineer for a 12-month contract in Charlotte, NC. This owner-side role focuses on heavy industrial design review, seismic and wind engineering, foundation systems, and multidisciplinary coordination.

The ideal candidate holds a PE license in Civil/Structural Engineering with 10+ years of experience and is proficient with RISA, STAAD, SAP2000, ETABS, SACS, or GT STRUDL. ACA-compliant supplemental package available.

Qualifications

10+ years of heavy industrial experience.
Strong understanding of seismic design requirements and analysis.
Knowledge of wind design requirements and related loads.
Ability to review geotechnical recommendations and soil improvement.
Experience with heavy foundation design and dynamic loads.
Experience reviewing structural steel designs for pipe racks and supports.
Familiarity with structural analysis software such as RISA, STAAD, SAP2000, ETABS, SACS and/or GT STRUDL.
Experience reviewing construction QA/QC documentation and evaluating non-conformance items.

Responsibilities

Review structural designs, calculations, drawings, specifications, and vendor deliverables for heavy industrial projects.
Evaluate design assumptions, identify missing load cases, and assess corrective actions for non-conformance items.
Support review of containment tank systems and seismic/wind performance.
Coordinate interfaces with process, mechanical, piping, electrical, controls, and geotechnical disciplines.
Support modularization reviews including fabrication-yards and lift engineering.
Consider cost and constructability impacts on quantities and schedules.
