Job summary

AECOM is seeking a Senior Structural Engineer to join our Data Center practice. The ideal candidate will lead design and analysis for hyperscale and colocation facilities, bringing expertise in large-scale concrete and steel structures and low-carbon design strategies.

The role offers remote work with periodic travel and can be based in locations across the US where AECOM has offices. Team leadership and client coordination are key aspects of the position.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Structural or Civil Engineering required.
• 8+ years of relevant professional experience in building structural design.
• Licensed U.S. PE or SE is required.
• Experience with data centers, mission-critical facilities, or large-scale industrial projects.
• Proficiency with BIM ACC (Revit) and analysis software (ETABS, RAM, SAP2000, SAFE).

Responsibilities

• Lead and perform structural design and analysis for multiple data center buildings.
• Develop design documentation for tilt-up concrete panels, precast structures, steel framing, foundations.
• Coordinate design with architectural, civil, MEP, and construction teams.
• Oversee construction documents, specs, and calculations for quality and code compliance.
• Provide mentorship to junior engineers and designers.
• Engage with clients, contractors, and review authorities for clarifications.
• Support business development and conceptual structural design for pursuits.
• Travel as needed for project activities.
