Job summary

AECOM is seeking a Senior Structural Engineer to lead design and analysis for hyperscale data center facilities with a focus on low-carbon and resilient strategies. Remote-friendly but with potential travel for milestones, you will collaborate with multidisciplinary teams on fast-paced projects.

The ideal candidate has extensive experience in concrete and steel structures, BIM tools, and client-facing delivery, with opportunities for career growth within our global Data Center practice.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Structural or Civil Engineering with at least 6 years of relevant experience.
• Licensed U.S. Professional Engineer (PE or SE).
• 5+ years of professional experience in building structures design and analysis.
• Experience in data center, mission critical, or large scale facilities.
• Experience with BIM ACC (Revit), ETABS, RISA, RAM, SAP2000, Safe.
• Experience with precast concrete systems, steel design, seismic design, and foundations.
• Demonstrated experience with low embodied carbon materials.

Responsibilities

• Perform structural design and analysis for multiple data center buildings, including hyperscale and colocation type facilities.
• Develop design documentation for tilt-up concrete panels, precast structures, steel framing systems, and deep and shallow foundations.
• Coordinate design deliverables with architectural, civil, MEP, and construction teams to ensure alignment with project objectives and client standards.
• Prepare construction documents, specifications, and calculations, ensuring quality, code compliance, and technical excellence.
• Provide mentorship and technical guidance to junior engineers and designers.
• Engage with clients, contractors, and review authorities to address technical queries and design clarifications.
• Support business development, proposal writing, and conceptual structural design for new pursuits.
• Travel, as needed, for project-related activities such as client meetings and site visits.
