Job summary

Farnsworth Group is seeking a Sr. Structural Engineer for Chicago, Lisle, Normal, Peoria, Springfield, IL or St. Louis, MO. You will deliver customer-oriented design and construction services nationwide and in the Western Region, with strong growth potential.

You will perform structural analysis and design for building and energy/industrial structures, develop construction documents, and conduct site visits and client meetings as part of a collaborative project team.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s (required) or Master’s degree (preferred) in Civil, Structural, or Architectural Engineering, with emphasis in structures
• 8 -15 years of structural engineering experience
• Experience with design and construction administration of building structures, preferably both new construction and renovation of existing structures
• Experience designing with common construction materials: steel, concrete, masonry or wood
• Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills
• Strong team player in a multi-disciplinary environment that can manage and contribute to several projects simultaneously

Responsibilities

• Perform structural analysis and design for building structures and related systems.
• Perform structural analysis and design for Energy and Industrial structures and related systems.
• Develop construction documents and provide construction administration services.
• Perform site visits, client meetings, and coordination with the project team.
