Job summary

Soft source inc is seeking highly qualified Structural Engineers with over 10 years of diversified experience to perform design on heavy industrial projects and lead multidisciplinary teams. The role emphasizes adherence to industry codes and collaboration across disciplines.

Ideal candidates will hold ABET-accredited degrees, PE/SE registration, and strong mentoring and communication skills, with proficiency in STAAD, Tekla, AutoCAD, and Revit.

Qualifications

• ABET-accredited bachelor or master in Structural Engineering or related field.
• PE and/or SE registration required.
• At least 10 years of relevant structural engineering experience.
• Experience in pulp and paper industry preferred.
• Knowledge of IBC and associated standards (ASCE, AISC, ACI).
• Expertise with structural analysis software (STAAD, Tekla) and interpreting results.
• Working knowledge of CAD software (AutoCAD and Revit).
• Proficient in Word, Excel, and Outlook.
• Experience with rotating and vibration analysis.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Experience leading structural project teams.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Experience mentoring other structural engineers.

Responsibilities

• Lead structural project teams and perform all design aspects of structural engineering assignments within the design and construction process.
• Adhere to department design and drafting standards and project scope.
• Manage project budget, schedule, and staffing with the department.
• Develop conceptual layouts and cost studies to identify efficient solutions.
• Produce preliminary designs and material take-offs for estimates.
• Create organized design calculations and deliverables for review.
• Deliver cost-effective designs meeting client requirements and codes.
• Review others' calculations and drawings for accuracy and conformance to standards.
• Coordinate with other disciplines to ensure timely information flow.
• Assist in bid package development and vendor drawing review.
• Develop construction specifications and review submittals for conformance.
• Support fieldwork for data collection and construction coordination.
• Mentor less experienced engineers and provide technical guidance.
