Job summary

Madsen Associates seeks a mid-to-senior licensed Professional Engineer with expertise in structural behavior for forensic engineering across residential, commercial, industrial facilities, marine and inland structures.

The role involves field documentation, repair scope determination, failure analysis, and expert reports. Travel may be required; strong communication and project management are essential. Compensation ranges from $90k to $130k plus benefits.

Qualifications

• ABET-accredited B.S. in Civil/Architectural Eng required.
• NJ Professional Engineer license through NCEES; multi-state registrations a plus.
• Minimum 5 years structural engineering experience.
• Knowledge of national building codes (ICC, ASCE, AISC, ACI, NDS).
• Knowledge of structural engineering concepts, principles and practices.
• Field experience.
• Strong written and oral communication skills.
• Experience in providing litigation support including expert testimony desirable.

Responsibilities

• Field work to document as-built conditions and damage to structural systems.
• Utilize codes and knowledge to establish repair scope and origin analyses.
• Evaluate design drawings and documentation.
• Communicate with clients, code officials and contractors; provide reports.
• Manage multiple project assignments, on time and within budget.
• Retention and development of client relationships.
• Willing to travel, as needed on short notice.
