Job summary

Burns & McDonnell in Florida is seeking a Staff Structural Engineer to join project teams. You will perform structural design from concept through design completion on diverse facilities, and advise on budget and client needs.

You will review drawings, apply codes, conduct field inspections, and collaborate with managers to compile data for presentations while updating CAD models across Revit/ETABS. This is a full-time, on-site role with 25% travel.

Qualifications

• ABET-accredited degree in structural engineering or related field.
• FE exam completed or in progress with 3+ years of experience.
• Master's degree in structural engineering with 2+ years of experience.
• Strong knowledge of standard engineering techniques and procedures.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform structural design from conceptual phase through design completion.
• Modify and review production drawings for diverse projects (power, process, healthcare, etc.).
• Design structural components per project manager requirements.
• Apply knowledge of codes and procedures within structural engineering services.
• Research and compile project data for managers.
• Update drawings across CAD software to verify corrections.
• Prepare information for client presentations, shop drawings, and contracts.
• Perform field inspections and measurements for clients.
• Comply with all policies and standards.
