Job summary

Allied Steel Buildings seeks an experienced Structural Engineer to join its Field Service Department. You will provide structural analysis, repair details, and sound engineering judgment during erection, installation, and post-construction of pre-engineered and steel structures.

Based in Texas, you’ll travel to project sites as needed, coordinate with Engineering, Detailing, and Fabrication, and ensure code-compliant solutions while maintaining strong communication with Field Service and project

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering.
• Licensed Professional Engineer (P.E.) required; Structural Engineer (S.E.) license a plus.
• Minimum of 10 years of structural engineering experience, with PEMB industry experience.
• Experience with MBS design software required.
• Ability to travel to project sites as needed.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the primary structural engineering resource for Field Service during erection, installation, and field construction of PEMB and steel structures.
• Evaluate as-built field conditions and develop code-compliant repair details.
• Review and seal engineering calculations and drawings; obtain licenses as needed.
• Respond to RFIs and provide direction to erection crews and project managers to minimize schedule impact.
• Conduct field visits to assess conditions and support Field Service on high-risk issues.
• Coordinate with Engineering, Detailing, and Fabrication to resolve field issues and reduce recurrence.
