Job summary

Allied Steel Buildings, Inc. is seeking an experienced Structural Engineer to support its Field Service team in solving on-site challenges for pre-engineered and conventional steel structures.

You will evaluate field conditions, develop repair details, and help ensure code-compliant solutions while collaborating with Engineering, Detailing, and Fabrication. A PE license is required; a SE is a plus, with travel to project sites as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering and PE licensure.
• Minimum 10 years structural engineering experience in PEMB or related field.
• Experience reading and interpreting architectural and structural drawings.
• Knowledge of current codes (IBC/ASCE7) and seismic design.
• Willingness to travel to project sites.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the primary structural resource for Field Service, solving on-site challenges.
• Evaluate field conditions and develop code-compliant repair details.
• Review and seal calculations; support licensing in new states.
• Respond promptly to RFIs and guide erection crews and project managers.
• Mentor Field Service on structural behavior and erection sequencing.
