Job summary

Allied Steel Buildings seeks an experienced Structural Engineer to support Field Service with structural analysis, repair details, and sound engineering judgment for PEMB and steel structures in the field. You will work closely with Field Service, Engineering, Detailing, and Fabrication to resolve field conditions quickly, safely, and in compliance with applicable codes.

Based in Texas with travel to project sites as needed, you will impact project schedule, cost, safety, and client satisfaction

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering is required.
• Licensed Professional Engineer (P.E.) is required; Structural Engineer (S.E.) license a plus.
• Minimum of 10 years of structural engineering experience with PEMB or related fields.
• Experience with MBS design software is required.
• Willingness and ability to travel to project sites as needed.
• Strong knowledge of current building codes including seismic design for metal buildings and steel structures.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the primary structural engineering resource for Field Service during erection, installation, and field construction.
• Evaluate as-built field conditions and develop code-compliant repair details.
• Review and seal calculations and field modification drawings; pursue additional licenses as needed.
• Respond promptly to RFIs and guide erection crews, PMs, and Field Service personnel.
• Conduct site visits to assess conditions and support Field Service on complex issues.
• Coordinate with Engineering/Detailing/Fabrication to resolve field issues and reduce recurrence.
• Provide guidance on connection modifications and member reinforcement for medium/high complexity structures.
• Document observations and actions per Allied's quality standards.
• Mentor Field Service team on structural behavior and erection sequencing.
• Stay updated with AISC/AISI specs, ASCE 7, IBC, MBMA.
